Programme Spark

This Spark explores the many ways that Scouts have communicated over the past 110+ years.

Your section should explore and try out as many as possible of the different methods of communication listed below:

  • Telephone
  • Morse Code
  • Semaphor
  • Email
  • Phonetic Alphabet
  • Video booth
  • Makaton or Sign Language
  • Radios

You could give them set messages to communicate to each other or let them have their own conversation using these methods of communication.

This would be a great opportunity to invite the Scout Active Support Units dedicated to communication in our County to your Section meeting.

You could also tie this Spark in with JOTA & JOTI.

Adapting for each Section
