The new appointment process is now live in our county and accross the UK.

The new process has been successfully used in five Counties and one Area and is designed to be a simpler, more welcoming process.

It will help make it easier to appoint adults, ensure that all adult appointments are treated equally and accommodate all relevant safeguarding checks.

How does it work in our County

As will be seen from the “Flow Chart” there is :

• A county appointment Secretary that inputs al of the details onto the National Database

• Each District has a District Appointment Secretary that coordinates the appointment process within the District.

For the appointment process to work efficiently we all need to ensure that

• AA and CRB forms are correctly filled in as soon as possible
• Induction is friendly and relevant
• The information on the database is correct at all times

When using these pages their may be local variations within the district on the exact procedure used. Similarly, for ease of illustration groups have been used as a starting point for new adults, however it is recognised that slightly different procedures may be in place for district/county appointments.
