A chance to complete 2 Modules and catch up with friends!

Our June Training weekend runs in a slightly different format to all our others.

We are delivering just 2 Modules:

  • Module K - A chance for Young Leaders to gain a First Response certificate which covers the requirements of Module K for the YL Scheme.
  • Module A - A mandatory training module for all Young Leaders that must be completed within 3 months of starting as a Young Leader.

Programme

Here is the outline programme for the weekend. More details about each part are below.

Day     Activity
Saturday     Module K
Saturday Evening     BBQ Social evening
Sunday

Module A

Scouting Skills

Module K

Please arrive at 9:00am to book in. The training will start at 9:30am prompt and finish at 4:30pm.

You will need to bring your own packed lunch.

Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment!

However if you have already have completed Stage 4 or above of the Emergency Aid Badge, then you do not need to do this training as this counts.

BBQ Social Evening

After Module K has been delivered on Saturday we will be having a social evening which all Young Leaders are welcome to. Even if you have not done Module K you are welcome to attend and catch up with friends you have made on previous training weekends.

Staying Overnight

Young Leaders are welcome to camp over on the Saturday night. They will need to provide their own camping equipment and breakfast will be provided on Sunday morning.

Module A

This is the mandatory training Module that all Young Leaders must complete within 3 months of starting with their Section.

Please arrive at 9:00am and the Module will finish at 12:30pm.

Scouting Skills

On Sunday morning, for those that have camped over, there will be a chance to brush up on your basic Scouting skills and maybe learn something to share with your Section.

Cost

Young Leader training is now offered free of charge to all Young Leaders. However, you still need to book and the County reserve the right to make a charge of £10 per person for any places booked where people do not turn up or cancel prior to the weekend.

What to bring

Everyone will need a packed lunch with them for Saturday and refreshments will be served throughout the day.

If you would like to camp over then you will need to provide your own camping and sleeping equipment. Breakfast will be provided on Sunday morning for those that stay over.

Please wear something comfortable for taking part in the training and your necker.

Missions

As normal any Young Leader is welcome to drop in over Saturday or Sunday to ask for help with their Missions or to have them signed off if they have finished them.

Bookings

We are now using an online system called Online Scout Manager to easily coordinate all our admin for Young Leader Training. It is a safe, secure and GDPR compliant system that saves Leaders a lot of time and it also saves a lot of paper. This system also has a portal for Parents/Guardians to access and provide us with all the details we need, without having to complete any paper forms.

If you have booked onto a Training Weekend through OSM before, then you will receive an email inviting you direct from OSM, if you need to complete these Modules.

If you haven't booked on to a YL Training weekend through OSM before, then parents should email yladmin@humbersidescouts.org.uk with your young person’s name, date of birth and their Scout Group. We will then send you a link to access the portal. Please note, this email must come from a parent, not the Young Leader.
