DESCRIPTION:Thinking about joining us for Alpine Adventures 2028? 🎿🇮🇹 \nWe’re heading to Folgaria\, Italy\, for our next County skiing adventure\, with our friends from North Yorkshire County — and we’d love to tell you more! \n📅 Thursday 15th October\n⏰ 7:30pm – 8:30pm\n📍 Nyeri Centre\, Raywell Park Activity Centre\, HU16 5YL \n  \nOur Information Session is open to young people\, parents/carers and Leaders who would like to find out more before deciding whether to sign up. \nWe’ll talk through our plans for the trip\, including the resort\, skiing\, travel\, accommodation\, costs\, what’s included and what to expect from the adventure. There’ll also be plenty of opportunity to ask questions. \nPlease complete our short Expression of Interest form and let us know whether you’ll be joining us on 15th October. DESCRIPTION:Connecting Scouts Across the World\nOur JOTA-JOTI event brings the world of Scouting together. \nJamboree on the Air (JOTA) and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) give young people the chance to connect with Scouts from across the globe using radio and digital communication. It’s international Scouting in action — without leaving Humberside. \nThis is your opportunity to speak\, message and share experiences with Scouts from different countries\, cultures and communities. \nWhat to Expect\nDuring the event\, young people will: \n– Use amateur radio to speak with Scouts around the world\n– Connect online through safe\, moderated platforms\n– Learn about global Scouting and international traditions\n– Take part in communication challenges and team activities\n– Develop digital awareness and communication skills \nExperienced volunteers will support every station\, ensuring a safe\, structured and engaging experience for all sections taking part. \nJOTA-JOTI helps young people to: \n– Build confidence speaking to new people\n– Develop communication skills\n– Gain a wider understanding of the world\n– Experience the international spirit of Scouting \nIt’s a powerful reminder that Scouts are part of something bigger. \nSquirrels\, Beavers\, Cubs\, Scouts\, Explorers\, Network and Adult Volunteers can attend for the day – Saturday 17th October. Day visitors are £10 each\, with Squirrels being £6 each. \nScouts\, Explorers\, Network and Adult Volunteers have the option of making it a weekend event and staying from Friday 16th October – Sunday 18th October. Campers are £15 per young person. Groups will need to add extra fees on for food for the weekend and sort their own food. \nEach YP attending will receive the official 2026 JOTA JOTI badge. DESCRIPTION:BeFloodReady 2026 is a free event open to all young people in Scouting and Girlguiding across Humberside and beyond\, bringing together experts from across the flood industry to explore one of the biggest challenges facing communities across the UK. \nTaking place as part of National Flood Action Week\, this exciting and interactive day will help young people understand flooding\, learn how to prepare for it\, and discover how individuals and communities can respond when flooding occurs. Through hands-on activities\, teamwork and expert-led sessions\, participants will gain valuable knowledge while having fun and making a difference. \nWhat They’ll Be Doing: \nThroughout the day\, young people will take part in a range of activities tailored to their Section\, including: \n\nLearning about different types of flooding and why they happen\nExploring the impact flooding can have on people\, homes\, businesses and wildlife\nDiscovering how to prepare for flood risks and keep communities safe\nTaking part in practical emergency planning and response challenges\nMeeting professionals from across the flood and water management industry\nLearning about the actions individuals can take before\, during and after flooding\nCompleting interactive activities recorded in their own Flood Passport\nWorking towards earning a brand new BeFloodReady 2026 blanket badge\n\nActivities will be age-appropriate\, engaging and designed to encourage curiosity\, teamwork and resilience. \n  \nWhy It Matters \nUnderstanding flood risk helps young people become better prepared for future challenges and empowers them to support their communities. Through this event\, participants will: \n\nIncrease their awareness of environmental and climate-related issues\nLearn practical skills for emergency preparedness\nBuild confidence through problem-solving and teamwork\nUnderstand the role of community resilience during emergencies\nMeet experts and discover careers linked to flood management and environmental protection\n\nBy the end of the day\, every young person will have completed their Flood Passport\, developed a greater understanding of flooding and its impacts\, and earned their exclusive BeFloodReady 2026 blanket badge.
