SUMMARY:Natural History Museum Sleepover
DESCRIPTION:Cubs take on the Natural History Museum! \nWe are delighted to let you know that we are taking the Cubs on a sleepover at the Natural History Museum! \nWe will be travelling down to London on Saturday morning\, arriving in London around 2pm. \nUpon arriving in London\, groups will have the option of either planning their own adventure around London or joining the events team on a ready-made adventure. This will be shared closer to the time\, but we welcome any suggestions you may have. \nAll groups will meet at a designated collection point at 5pm. We will then be collected by our coach and transported to the awesome Natural History Museum. We will have our evening meal before entering the museum at 6:30pm. \nAfter entering the museum\, we will have a few exciting activities\, a tour\, possibly a talk by a professor at the museum\, and a bedtime story before settling down for sleep in the Hintze Hall.  On Sunday morning\, we will have breakfast and another activity before exploring the museum until lunchtime. \nWe then head home back up to beautiful Yorkshire after a fantastic weekend! \nPlaces are limited and you will need to book early! We will have a reserve list just in case. We need Packs to book on a ratio of 1:6 please. If you do not have enough adult volunteers to register your Pack\, please contact us and a member of the Events Team will make up your numbers. Cubs must be aged between 8 and 10½ on the date of the event. \nYou can book your Cub Pack on here: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/j6y46pDRV8 \nThe price is £170 for Cubs and £50 for Leaders. \nThe price includes travel to and from London\, sleepover fees\, breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Everyone will need to bring a pack up lunch and pack up evening meal for the Saturday – we will eat our lunch on the coach and our evening meal before we go into the museum. Groups doing their own adventure around London will need to do their own risk assessment. Please note public transport costs are not included in the cost so you will need to factor this into your own costs if you want to use public transport on your self-led adventure. \nEveryone will need to bring: \n\nSleeping bag\nToothbrush\nReusable water bottle\nClothes to sleep in\nPack up for lunch\nPack up for evening meal\nA pillow is optional\nCub jumper and necker\nChange of clothes for Sunday (We will hopefully still wear the Cub jumper and necker on Sunday)\nOnly one bag is allowed so everything must fit into one bag.\n\nA thin foam roll mat is provided by the museum – you may bring your own\, but they do not allow any inflatable air beds or mats over 2 inches thick. \nPlease do not bring anything of sentimental or financial value as we can take no responsibility for loss or damage to any items. There are no charging points to charge mobile phones either. \nWe will need parents/carers to fill in a consent form before the trip and these will be sent out to all Cub Packs before the trip. \nIt is Remembrance Sunday on the 8th November and we will have our own short ceremony to show our respects. \nPlease email events@humbersidescouts.org.uk if you have any questions! \nLooking forward to taking you on this Roarsome adventure!

SUMMARY:Young Leader Training Weekend - Modules A\, E\, G & H
DESCRIPTION:This training weekend will deliver Modules A\, E\, G & H. \nWe will be staying in indoor accommodation for this weekend. Beds are allocated on a first come first served basis and Young Leaders will sleep in mixed rooms\, to allow us to utilise all of the beds available. Separate changing facilities are always available at all times. \nYoung Leaders are welcome to bring a tent and camp outside if all they prefer or if all the beds are filled. They can also come and go for the Training Modules and evening activities\, but sleep at home. \nYoung Leaders do not need to attend every Module on this weekend\, just the ones that they require. Please indicate which Modules you need to do when you book on through Online Scout Manager. \nModule Timings\n\nFriday Evening\n\n20:00 Arrive and sign in\n21:00 Wide Game\n21:30 Supper\n22:30 Bed / Lights out\n\n\n\nSaturday\n\n09:00–12:00\nModule A Activities running for those not in Mod A\n13:30–15:00 Module E\n15:15–16:45 Module G\n16:45\nMissions Sign-off drop-ins welcome\n18:00\nChristmas Dinner and Festivities\n\n\n\nSunday\n\n09:00–10:30 Module H\n11:30 Presentations\n\n\nActivities\nFor those Young Leaders who are staying overnight and have already completed Module A\, we will be running Archery and Fire Lighting for you to do in this time instead. \nPlease ensure you have clothing suitable to take part in these activities – particularly closed toe shoes for Archery. \nWe will be outside whatever the weather\, so please ensure you have suitable clothing and footwear\, including waterproofs and walking boots. \nWhat to bring\nMost Young Leaders will be sleeping indoors this weekend\, so beds are provided but Young Leaders will need to bring their own sleeping bag. \nIf you are camping overnight instead\, then you will need to provide your own tent and sleeping equipment. \nMany of the activities during the Training Modules will be run outside\, so you’ll also need walking boots\, waterproofs and warm clothes suitable for outdoor activities. \nFull uniform is not required for Young Leader Training. You should wear casual clothing\, Scout branded if you wish such as Group or Unit t-shirts and hoodies. Please bring your necker to wear for the presentations on Sunday as these look great in photographs! \nAll food\, pots and utensils are provided\, but please bring your own named refillable water bottle to have drinks in throughout the weekend. \nWe will be having Christmas Dinner and Christmas party games on Saturday night\, so Christmas jumpers or festive outfits are required! \nFor those who have attended Young Leader training before\, please bring your Young Leader Logbook with you. If this will be your first Young Leader training event\, then you will be given one at the weekend. \nAll electrical items are brought at your own risk. We may ask you to use devices with internet access at certain points during the training modules\, such as to find Programme ideas online\, otherwise we expect Young Leaders to be respectful of when they use these. \nMissions\nIf you are staying over for the weekend and have completed any Missions in your Young Leader Logbook since we have last seen you\, then please bring these along so they can be signed off and we can award you with your certificates and badges. \nIf you do not need to complete any more Modules\, and just need your Missions signing off\, please get in touch to let us know what time to expect you. Saturday afternoon\, after Module G has finished would be a perfect opportunity to drop-in! \nLeaders\nExplorer Leaders or Section Leaders are welcome to visit any of the training over the weekend. A member of the County Young Leader Support Team will always be available to answer any questions you have. \nJust let us know what time you’ll be coming so we can have the kettle on! \nBookings\nWe use an online system called Online Scout Manager to easily coordinate all our admin for Young Leader Training. It is a safe\, secure and GDPR compliant system that saves Leaders a lot of time and it also saves a lot of paper. This system also has a portal for Parents/Guardians to access and provide us with all the details we need\, without having to complete any paper forms. \nIf you have booked onto a Training Weekend through OSM before\, and you need to complete one or more of the Modules being delivered on this weekend\, then you will receive an email inviting you\, direct from OSM. \nIf you haven’t booked on to a YL Training weekend through OSM before\, then parents/carers should email yladmin@humbersidescouts.org.uk Please note\, this email must come from a parent/carer\, not the Young Leader. \nThe closing date for bookings is Friday 4th December 2026. \nCost\nYoung Leader Training is free of charge to all Young Leaders in Humberside County. \nHowever\, you still need to book on via OSM and the County reserve the right to make a charge of £10 per person for any places booked where people do not turn up or cancel prior to the weekend\, with short notice. \nPlaces cancelled after Friday 4th December 2026 are subject to the £10 charge. \n\n\nSummary: A chance to complete Modules A\, E\, G & H of the Young Leader Training Scheme. \nSuitable For: Explorer Scouts\, Young Leaders \nPrice: Free \nVenue: Raywell Park\, Riplingham Road\, HU16 5YL \nContact: yladmin@humbersidescouts.org.uk
