It’s a full day of activity designed to help young people complete their DIY badge while learning real skills they can use at home and in their communities. \nFrom measuring and making to problem-solving and teamwork\, this is a chance for Cubs to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. \nWhat They’ll Be Doing\nThroughout the day\, Cubs will take part in a range of supervised activities designed to meet the requirements of the DIY badge. Activities will include: \n– Learning how to use simple hand tools safely\n– Measuring and marking out materials\n– Completing small construction projects\n– Exploring basic home maintenance skills\n– Understanding safety and responsibility when fixing or building \nEvery activity is practical\, age-appropriate\, and delivered by experienced volunteers in a supportive environment. \nWhy It Matters\nThe DIY badge isn’t just about building things. It’s all about observation\, creativity and telling a story through images. \nWhat They’ll Be Doing\nThroughout the day\, Beavers will take part in a range of activities to complete the requirements of their Photography badge. This will include: \n– Learning how to hold and use a camera or device safely\n– Understanding what makes a good photograph\n– Exploring different types of photos\, from portraits to action shots\n– Taking photographs indoors and outdoors\n– Reviewing and talking about the photos they’ve taken \nAll activities are age-appropriate and led by experienced volunteers\, with a strong focus on safety\, creativity and building confidence. \nWhy It Matters\nThe Beaver Photography Badge isn’t just about taking pictures.
