Adventure and perseverance were in full swing as Hedon Cub Scouts got hands-on with the traditional Scout skill of fire lighting using flint and steel. It’s a tricky technique that takes patience, technique, and a little bit of luck — but that didn’t stop them giving it their all!

Among the group, one determined Cub managed to strike up a successful fire with just flint and steel — an impressive feat that earned well-deserved applause. Of course, not every fire burns perfectly first time… especially when wet grass enters the mix!

Luckily, with time ticking and teamwork in full force, the Cubs adapted and brought out the firelighters and matches to keep things on track. The result? A warm, glowing fire perfect for toasting marshmallows and sharing stories.

Experiences like this build resilience, problem-solving skills, and plenty of laughs along the way. Hedon Cubs, you should be proud of yourselves — and we can’t wait to see what outdoor adventure you tackle next! 🔥🌲
