Providing fun, challenge and adventure for boys and girls aged 6+

Volunteer Vacancies

Scouting is a volunteer organisation and as such these are volunteer roles.  We offer a flexible volunteering approach, so any time you are able to give is greatly appreciated.

Some roles will require more time than others, however, these are just a selection of roles available and we would be happy to discuss with you any opportunities to volunteer within our fantastic organisation.

All appointments are subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS (CRB) clearance.

Events Team Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to manage the Scout Active Support Unit (SASU) who deliver fantastic events for all Sections. You will work with our DCC (Programme) to ensure these events meet the needs of the County and provide a fun, engaging and high quality programme for our young people.

We need a volunteer with a passion for Scouting, an open mind and a willingness to take Scouting forward to ensure that we achieve not only the vision of Humberside, but Scouting’s vision to 2023 too.

Your length of service is not important... 5 weeks or 50 years, it is your enthusiasm, skills and ideas that we are looking for!

District Commissioner - Pocklington

We're looking for someone (or a team of people) to lead the Pocklington Scout District.

We need someone who can provide guidance to our volunteers, develop a team of people that can help to support and deliver a great programme to our young people, as well as an ability to motivate other adult volunteers within the District.

A large part of this role involves supporting managers of local Groups. For any adult volunteer in Scouting, their manager will be a regular point of call for support. You don’t need any prior experience of Scouting to apply for this role: we’ll make sure you’re fully trained and supported - and have some fun along the way!

The Scout District is made up of five groups based in the following areas: Market Weighton, Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, Pockligton, Melbourne and Stamford Bridge

Below is an information pack that gives more information about the role - don't be put off by the requirements though, it doesn't have to be one person, there are plenty of examples of successful teams undertaking this role on a shared basis.

If you want to just have an informal chat to get to know a bit about the role before you decide, you can can contact Alan Hayward, Deputy County Commissioner for Adult Support - details are included within the pack.

If you are interested, you are welcome to apply for the role yourself, or alternatively, nominate someone that you think will be suitable for the role by 28 February 2019.

Customer Liaison Officer - Paid Role

Humberside Scouts are seeking to employ a Customer Liaison Officer to assist with the administration and running of Raywell Park.

The successful candidate must be self motivated and willing to undertake a variety of tasks as part of the role and will need a degree of the role.  For further information, please download the full role description.

The closing date for applications is Thursday 28 February 2019.

Training Team Members

Have you ever fancied joining the Humberside County Training Team?

Well this is your opportunity to apply.

The Training Team are looking to increase the number of trainers to deliver training modules to adults in Scouting. Training usually takes place in three 'Cluster Days' per year at Raywell but our trainers will go out into Districts if needed

We are looking to broaden our trainer base for all Modules but have listed a few for you to consider:

Module 5 - Fundamentals of Scouting
Module 7 - Scouting for All
Module 8 - Skills of Leadership
Module 11 - Administration
Module 12A - Delivering a Quality Programme
Module 17 - Running Safe Activities

If you would like to help with these or any others - or simply want to discuss how you can help, please contact Alan Hayward for an initial chat about what is involved.
