County Camp - The Final Word

County Scout Camp 2015 - The Final Word

We asked your Camp Chief, our Deputy County Commissioner to say a few words about the weekend of County Scout Camp at Raywell Park...

"I was very happy to front the County Camp but really it was a great team effort in the true spirit of Scouting.

From the Thursday evening prior to the camp when a team came to put up the marquee to the end of the camp, the team worked tirelessly and without fuss to make the camp a success.

All leaders also worked hard with great range of differing activities so really these was never a dull moment. It was great to meet a number of new Scouters from many Districts, and have a chat with them.

Without exception the comments from the Scouts and leaders have been positive and supportive.

There are a couple of outstanding items. First of all. Lost Property. I had number of items left at Raywell on Monday afternoon, coats, hats, etc so if you or one of your troop have lost anything, please contact me and I will try to get it back to you.

Secondly. We have a suggestion from the  Ferriby and Swanland leaders that they would like to swap "neckers" with others Troops that were on the camp. If you think you or your Troop would like to do this, let me know and I will pass your details through to the Ferriby leaders.

We're going for another County Scout Camp in 2017 on the same Bank Holiday weekend , Friday 28th April to Monday 1st May, so keep this date free, spread the word and let's build on the success of 2015 in two years time.
