Are you an Explorer who has recently stepped up to help with a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack, or Scout Troop? Or maybe you’re thinking about starting your Young Leader journey? Then it’s time to tick off the most important box: Module A!
Known as “Prepare for Take-off,” Module A is the essential foundation for every Young Leader in Humberside. It’s the only mandatory module in the scheme, and it’s designed to give you all the “need-to-know” info to feel confident, safe, and ready to lead.
Why Module A Matters
Being a Young Leader is one of the most rewarding parts of Scouting. You’re a role model, a game-player, and a mentor all rolled into one! Module A covers the basics of:
- The Purpose of Scouting: Why we do what we do.
- Keeping Everyone Safe: Understanding your role in child protection and safety.
- Child Development: Tips on how to engage with different age groups.
- The “How-To”: Practical advice on helping to run a successful section.
Free Training, Real Skills
We believe in investing in our young people, which is why Young Leader training in Humberside is completely free of charge. It’s a fantastic way to build your CV, earn your Young Leader belt, and meet other Explorers from across the county.
