Bookings are now open for the 2026 Wolds Challenge, giving Scouts and Explorers the chance to put their navigation, teamwork and hiking skills to the test.
Taking place on Saturday 10 October 2026, the Wolds Challenge is a one-day hiking competition designed to challenge young people with route finding, navigation and teamwork across the Yorkshire Wolds.
Teams can choose from two routes depending on their section:
- Scout Route: approximately 12 miles
- Explorer Route: approximately 17 miles
- Map required: OS Explorer 294
- Entry fee: £10
- Date: Saturday 10 October 2026
It’s a great opportunity for Scouts and Explorers to take on a new challenge, develop their outdoor skills and work together as a team while enjoying a day out in the Wolds.
Adult volunteers
Adults attending the event must be registered as event staff, unless they are walking as part of a team.
Anyone planning to help with marshalling, event support or volunteering in another role should make sure they register as staff when completing their booking.
