Scouts – Patrol Leaders & Assistant Patrol Leaders Camp

Step Up. Lead Well. Camp Strong.
Our Patrol Leaders (PL) & Assistant Patrol Leaders (APL) Camp is designed for Scouts who are ready to step up and lead from the front. This dedicated camp brings Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders together to build practical skills, grow confidence, and strengthen leadership in the outdoors.
It’s hands-on, back-to-basics Scouting with a clear focus: leading your patrol well.
What’s On the Programme
Over the camp, Scouts will take part in a range of practical and adventurous activities, including:
– Firelighting
– Safe and effective use of saws
– Shelter building
– Wild camping skills
– Cooking on open fires
– Understanding and using stoves and lanterns
– Team challenges and leadership exercises
– Making new friends from across the County
Every activity is designed to build confidence, responsibility, and real leadership capability within a supportive environment.
Why It Matters
Being a Patrol Leader or Assistant Patrol Leader is more than wearing a badge. It’s about:
– Setting the example
– Supporting younger Scouts
– Making decisions under pressure
– Communicating clearly
– Taking responsibility for your patrol
This camp gives young leaders the tools they need to do the role well — and enjoy it.
Stronger leaders. Stronger patrols.
