Scouts of The World Award

Scouts of the World Award is a Scout Network only award that gives Scout Network members the chance to undertake a project of their choice within the themes of Peace, Environment and Sustainability and take action on their chosen issue.

To compete the award, you must attend a SOWA Discovery. The Discovery will broaden your understanding of the wider global context that underpins the Award and global issues.

Your chosen project must take a minimum of 80 hours where you’ll learn skills including independence, team work, project planning, time management and communication skills, while gaining an understanding for global issues and international relations.

You don’t have to go abroad to complete your Scouts of the World Award. Local and national projects are acceptable, as long as all requirements of the award are being met.

Support Available

Once you have attended a SOWA Discovery, a mentor will be assigned to guide you through your project, including the planning stages.

Join the SOWA Facebook group to see projects other Scout Network members are doing, gain ideas and get support from other people doing the award.
