Our Brandesburton Squirrels and Beavers had an absolute blast this week on our latest group adventure!
Finding venues that cater to both our youngest members (ages 4 to 6 for Squirrels) and our adventurous Beavers (ages 6 to 8) can sometimes be a balancing act. But this week’s trip to Ping Pong Tots in Hull delivered everything we could have hoped for—and more!
What They Got Up To 🌟
Brandesburton Squirrels and Beavers booked out an entire evening exclusively for our group, giving the young people the run of the place in a safe, structured environment. From the moment we arrived, the venue was buzzing with energy!
- Imaginative Role Play: The dedicated role-play area was a massive hit. The children jumped straight into character, taking on different real-world roles, building confidence, and using their imaginations. It was wonderful to see our Squirrels and Beavers playing together, learning to share, and problem-solving in such a welcoming setup.
- Friendly Competition in the Arcades: It wasn’t all role play, though! The arcade section offered plenty of high-energy fun. The children loved testing their skills on the games, cheering each other on, and celebrating every win.
- Fun for the Leaders Too! Let’s be honest—the grown-ups couldn’t resist getting involved in the arcade games either! Sharing in the fun alongside the young people is one of the best parts of being a volunteer leader.
Events like these are a huge part of what makes Scouting special. It’s not just about learning practical skills; it’s about making friends, trying new things, and building confidence in safe, supportive spaces.
