Scouting is all about adventure, personal growth, and pushing boundaries. Across every section—from our youngest members taking their first steps to our older youth leading the way—young people in Humberside Scouts are constantly setting goals and achieving incredible milestones.
The Top Awards represent the ultimate pinnacle of challenge, service, and personal development at every stage of the Scouting journey.
A Journey of Achievement: Top Awards by Section 🚀
Every section offers unique, rewarding challenges designed to stretch young people’s capabilities, build confidence, and teach vital skills for life:
- Squirrels (Ages 4–6): The adventure begins with the Chief Scout’s Acorn Award—the highest honor a Squirrel can earn, celebrating early adventures, friendship, and new discoveries.
- Beavers (Ages 6–8): Beavers work gradually toward the Chief Scout’s Bronze Award, building teamwork and resilience through fun weekly activities and camps.
- Cubs (Ages 8–10½): The Chief Scout’s Silver Award marks a huge achievement, earned through a balanced programme of campcraft, creative challenges, and outdoor exploration.
- Scouts (Ages 10½–14): Achieving the Chief Scout’s Gold Award requires completing all nine Challenge Awards plus six Activity Badges, proving true dedication and independence.
- Explorers (Ages 14–18) & Network (Ages 18–25): Older members can push their limits even further with the Chief Scout’s Platinum and Diamond Awards, paving the way toward the prestigious King’s Scout Award.
