Skills, Campfires and Galactic Adventure
Beavers at 1st Howden Scouts enjoyed a brilliant Jedi-themed camp packed with outdoor skills, teamwork and plenty of adventure.
The young people took part in a hike using maps, tried lightsaber training through fencing, cooked on a fire, and rounded things off with a campfire and songs.
Learning New Skills
The camp gave Beavers the chance to build confidence and try a wide range of activities, including:
- Map reading
- Hiking
- Fencing
- Fire cooking
- Campfire singing
- Teamwork and responsibility
Each activity helped the young people develop practical skills while having fun with their friends.
Taking Responsibility
One of the standout moments was seeing everyone get involved in cleaning up the building ready for the next visitors.
That kind of teamwork and care for shared spaces is a big part of Scouts, helping young people understand responsibility, respect and the value of leaving places ready for others.
A Camp to Remember
Jedi camp was a great example of Skills for Life in action: adventurous, active and full of chances to learn by doing.
Well done to the Beavers at 1st Howden Scouts for taking on the challenge and making the most of every part of camp.
