Youth Leads linking up across the UK

This weekend, Youth Leads from across Humberside joined Youth Leads from around the UK for a support weekend — a chance to connect, learn, and bring fresh ideas back to local Scouting.

What we got up to

Across the weekend, Youth Leads took part in practical workshops focused on skills they can use straight away in their roles, including:

  • Being Trustees
  • Working in teams
  • Youth voice
  • Event management
  • Power and influence
  • And plenty more

Bringing it back to Humberside

One of the best parts of weekends like this is the people. Youth Leads swapped experiences with others from different areas, made new friends, and caught up with familiar faces — all while sharing what’s working well (and what’s tricky) in their own districts.

Next time you see your Youth Lead, ask them which session was their favourite and what they’re keen to put into practice.

Could your District have a Youth Lead?

If your District doesn’t currently have a Youth Lead, this is a brilliant opportunity to change that. If you know someone aged 18–25 who’s up for representing young adults, shaping decisions, and helping improve Scouting for everyone, encourage them to reach out.
