2026 is going to be a huge year across Scouting, with three Sections celebrating milestone birthdays:
- Squirrels are turning 5
- Beavers are celebrating 40 years
- Cubs are reaching an incredible 110 years
To help mark this special occasion, Humberside Scouts has created a brand-new Triple Birthday Celebration Badge that can be worn by members across all three Sections until July 2027.
Why We Created Our Own Badge
While Scouts HQ has released separate anniversary badges for each Section, we wanted to create something that worked better for local Groups and Sections.
Our Humberside badge is:
- A larger 70mm occasional badge
- Just 50p each
- Includes free postage
- Suitable for Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs
- Easier for Groups to order in bulk without worrying about leftover stock as young people move Sections
Instead of needing three different badges, your whole Group can celebrate together with one shared design.
How to Earn the Badge
We wanted this badge to be something every Section could take part in easily, so the criteria is simple and fun.
To earn the badge, your Section just needs to:
1. Celebrate your Section’s birthday in some way
Your celebration can be as big or as simple as you like. Here are just a few ideas:
- Hold a birthday-themed meeting night
- Have a party with cake and games
- Create birthday crafts or decorations
- Run traditional games from the year your Section started
- Invite parents along for a celebration evening
- Hold a joint event with another Section
- Have a campfire celebration
- Organise a “birthday challenge” night
- Wear fancy dress or party hats to Scouts
- Learn about the history of your Section
2. Share your celebration with us
Take a photo of your celebration and send it in so we can see how Groups across Humberside are celebrating these milestone anniversaries.
We’d love to showcase as many celebrations as possible throughout the year!
Attending the Triple Birthday Bash?
Anyone attending the County Triple Birthday Bash event in September will automatically receive one of these badges as part of their event fee — so there’s no need to order separately if you’re already coming along.
