What an incredible day across the hills! The Wolds Challenge 2026 has officially drawn to a close, and it was a record-breaking event in every sense.
Organised and delivered by the brilliant Fells Marathon team from Blacktoft Beacon District, this year’s hike saw over 200 young people hit the trails. Reaching this milestone marks our highest participation figures in years, filling checkpoints across the Yorkshire Wolds with energy, teamwork, and true Scouting spirit.
A massive congratulations goes out to every single Scout and Explorer team that stepped up to the start line. Whether your team was pushing for a podium finish or digging deep simply to conquer the route and reach the finish line together, you should be extraordinarily proud of what you achieved.
Highlights from the Day
- 🥾 Record-Breaking Numbers: More than 200 Scouts and Explorers tested their endurance, navigation, and teamwork.
- 🏆 Tough Competition: Brilliant performances across both Scout and Explorer categories under challenging course conditions.
- 👏 Unsung Heroes: A huge thank you to the leaders, checkpoint marshals, safety crews, catering volunteers, and the Blacktoft Beacon Fells Marathon team, whose hard work behind the scenes made this day possible.
