Scouting For All
At Scouts, we encourage all members to take part, achieve and reach their full potential. Our programme, badges and activities are designed to be flexible to reflect a person’s individual needs.
It's important to remember that disabled people and people with long-term health conditions are the experts on their individual support needs. Disabled members, whether youth or adult, may be supported by parents and carers, as well as other support workers.

Supporting Additional Needs in Humberside
There are two members on the County Inclusion Team, who are able to support our volunteersd with additional needs adjustments: Amy Fairclough and Kath Rees. Kath is a volunteer in Broughton in North Lincolnshire and Amy is a volunteer in Howden in Blacktoft Beacon. Both work with young people in their professional life and we are fortunate that they bring such experience and knowledge to our team.
Both have joined to offer help, support and guidance to all volunteers, in the area of inclusion and special or additional needs. They are both highly qualified in this area and will offer verbal and face to face support to any volunteersd who have young people in their section who exhibit any behavior requiring such support. They will visit your section too ,if needed and have successfully supported sections in this way.
The team can be contacted in the first instance by e mail on; inclusion@humbersidescouts.org.uk. When requesting support, it would be helpful if you could give brief details of the support needs, section, meeting details and your contact information.
The team aim to provide support to our volunteers who need the benefit of such experience for their youngsters in terms of managing behavior, or adapting their sessions to suit the needs of young people.
