Social Media Master Class

Saturday, 10th August 2019
9:45am-4pm

A new initiative by the Grimsby and Cleethorpes District to try and help groups grow their sections and volunteers by good use of Facebook to promote scouting

The day is aimed at everyone from absolute beginners to experts and we'd encourage anyone with an interest in social media or growing Scouting to come along, we will be focusing on Facebook but hope to run another course in the winter around other social media platforms and more advanced techniques.

All you will need is yourself, some lunch and an internet enabled mobile phone; we'll be covering how to use the apps involved and we'll even be posting to "99th Dummy Scout Group" so you can actually get some practical examples in.

With an effective social media presence you can allow your activities to sell themselves and generally show the area what we're doing, this will start to lead towards more youth and adult recruitment. It makes it easier to get people interested in Scouting if we have lots of pictures, videos and posts about what we're up too.

The agenda for the day will be as below. This will be the first time we've run this course and participants will be welcome to provide feedback at the end so we can make this course worthwhile for all those attending.
