Young Leader Training - Module A

We are pleased that we can now run a face-to-face Module A!

Module A is the only Module that all Young Leaders must complete. Normally it should be done within 3 months of starting as a Young Leader, but this has not been possible due to COVID-19 restrictions, so we encourage all Young Leaders who have not yet completed this, to book on.

Places are limited on this course and allocated on a first come first served basis. We are also running an online version of the course too, if you would prefer to attend this. 

Please arrive from 8:45am to book in. 

Bookings

We use an online system called Online Scout Manager to easily coordinate all our admin for Young Leader Training. It is a safe, secure and GDPR compliant system that saves Leaders a lot of time and it also saves a lot of paper. This system also has a portal for Parents/Guardians to access and provide us with all the details we need, without having to complete any paper forms.

If you have booked onto a Training Weekend through OSM before, then you will receive an email inviting you, direct from OSM.

If you haven't booked on to a YL Training weekend through OSM before, then parents should email yladmin@humbersidescouts.org.uk with your young person’s name, date of birth and their Scout Group. We will then send you a link to access the portal. Please note, this email must come from a parent, not the Young Leader. 

Returning to face-to-face Scouting 

Scouting can return to meeting indoors again from 12th April 2021.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we need to gain permission for your Young Leader to join in and return to face-to-face Scouting, outdoors and indoors. 

This consent will be gained via an OSM Event, where Parents/Guardians will need to answer a series of questions and sign electronically to give their permission.

The guidance and COVID restrictions may have changed since your young person last attended a face-to-face Scout meeting, so it is vital that you and your Young Leader have read and understood the guide on what to expect. 

What to bring

Please ensure you bring the following to the training:

• A face covering

• Pen/pencil

• Paper or notebook

• Refillable water bottle (brought to the training full)

• A snack to have during the break

• Young Leader Logbook (If this is the first YL Training Module you have completed, then you will be given this on the day.)

Cost

There is no charge for this training.
