Skills Matter 2025

Saturday 12th - Sunday 13th April 2025

It doesn’t matter whether you have 40 years’ experience in Scouting or have just started in your exciting new role, we all have skills to pass on, and we all have skills to learn.

It's Skills Matter weekend! Are you feeling a bit rusty and want to update your scouting skills or even fancy learning a new skill?

The County are running their annual Skills Matter weekend at Raywell for anyone who fancies learning new skills or sharing theirs or both! It will be a great opportunity to meet others and network without the young people.

You can have a go at climbing, rifle shooting, backwoods cooking, pyrography, make something out of paracord, safe knives and much more!

Indoor accommodation is available and there’s always plenty of camping space! Some of the sessions are run in the morning, afternoon, or throughout the day, so feel free to pop in at any time if you can't make the full weekend.

Please do let us know what skills you would want to learn or improve on or if you have skills to share! Breakfast and evening meals are provided all weekend - just bring a pack up for lunch on the Saturday and your own drinks for the Saturday evening!

Booking

Please let us know when you're coming and your food preferences on this booking form: https://forms.office.com/e/8uazmXJLiU

Accommodation

Accommodation will be indoors (until we are full) and you will need a sleeping bag and an overnight bag. Camping is available as well.
