Jamboree Selection Weekend

2027 World Scout Jamboree Selection Weekend

11am Saturday 18th -
2pm Sunday 19th, October 2025

A weekend of fun, challenge and discovery – your chance to be part of something big.

🌍 Jamboree Selection Weekend – Your Adventure Starts Here!

Ready to take the first step on the journey of a lifetime?

Our Jamboree Selection Weekend (18–19 October 2025) is your chance to show us what makes you you – and to get a taste of the adventure that could take you all the way to Poland in 2027.

This isn’t just about being “picked” – it’s about meeting other Scouts and Explorers, taking on challenges, and finding out what the World Scout Jamboree is really about.

🎯 What’s the Purpose of the Selection Weekend?

Our weekend is designed to:

  • Discover potential: We’re looking for teamwork, communication skills, and a positive attitude – not just who’s the fastest, loudest, or strongest.
  • Build a team: This is where the friendships and unit spirit begin, long before we even set foot in Poland.
  • Share info: You’ll learn more about the Jamboree, the application process, and how we’ll support you to fundraise and prepare.

🎟️ Spaces Are Limited

Humberside Scouts has 27 spaces for the World Scout Jamboree – this number is set by UK HQ so that every county and region gets a fair chance to send Scouts proportionate to their recorded membership.

Our Selection Weekend helps us choose a balanced team with a mix of personalities, skills, and experiences to represent Humberside on the world stage.

Remember – it’s not about being “the best”, we’re looking for teamwork, positivity, and people who are ready to get involved.

🏕️ What to Expect

Over the weekend, you’ll take part in activities designed to be fun, challenging, and get everyone working together.

  • Adventure activities – think fire lighting, shelter building, or creative projects that will stretch your skills.
  • Team challenges – games and tasks that get you collaborating, communicating, and problem-solving.
  • Chats with leaders – we’ll have informal interviews and discussions to hear about your motivation and interests.
  • Friendship & Fun – time to relax, share stories, and start building connections with others who could be part of your Jamboree unit.

You really don’t need to be the loudest, most confident, or most experienced Scout – we’re looking for a mix of personalities and skills.

🙌 Why You’ll Love It

The Selection Weekend is about you – your chance to:

  • Show your enthusiasm and potential
  • Make new friends from across Humberside
  • Try new activities and challenge yourself
  • Take your first step towards an unforgettable adventure

💡 Top Tip

Bring your best attitude, a sense of adventure, and be ready to get stuck in. It’s about how you work with others, not how many badges you have!

🌟 What If You’re Not Selected?

Don't be disappointed, with only 27 spaces available, not everyone who applies will be able to go to the Jamboree – but that doesn’t mean your international adventure ends here!

🌍 Our County Trip to Germany – Summer 2027

We’re also planning a Humberside Scouts trip to Germany in the summer of 2027. This adventure will be open to all Scouts and Explorers without a selection process – so there will be space for everyone who wants to be part of it.

Whether you’re heading to Poland for the Jamboree or joining us in Germany, there’s an international adventure waiting for you!
