This past weekend, the Scout Hut at Melton was buzzing with excitement as St. Andrew’s Beavers and Cubs, along with some of the Beavers from St. Cuthbert’s, came together for an unforgettable indoor camp experience.

Despite being under one roof, the weekend was packed with outdoor spirit! From wide games and treasure hunts to stick collecting and soft archery, the young people took part in a huge variety of activities that kept them moving, thinking, and smiling. A highlight for many? The campfire evening — filled with songs, laughter, and of course, s’mores! 🔥🍫

They also made beautiful Mother’s Day cards and gifts, explored an obstacle course, and even had a go at axe throwing — proving just how brave and adventurous our Scouts can be.

But it wasn’t just about the fun. This camp was a huge opportunity for growth. The Beavers and Cubs learnt essential life skills: getting up and dressed on their own, looking after their belongings (only one lonely sock was left behind!), making new friends, and trying new things. They even helped with pot washing and made their own lunches — true independence in action!

A massive well done to every young person who took part — your energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn made all the planning, prep and paperwork totally worth it. The leaders are so proud… even if they’re now in need of a well-earned rest!
