The Scouts at 2nd Driffield got stuck into some back-to-basics Scouting this week with a pioneering night full of teamwork, knots, and creativity.

The evening saw the group split into teams to build mini bridges and useful camp gadgets, using nothing more than wooden poles, string, and lashings. Along the way, they practised key techniques, worked together to solve problems, and picked up some traditional Scouting skills that have stood the test of time.

Learning how to tie lashings isn’t just about knots — it’s about patience, communication, and thinking things through step-by-step. These are life skills in disguise!

The Scouts showed great determination and teamwork throughout the evening, supporting each other and making sure every structure stood strong.

Whether it’s preparing for future camps or just getting a taste of old-school Scouting fun, we love seeing our young people thrive with activities like these.

Great work, 2nd Driffield — onward and upward! 🏕️
