Scouting Fun at Fort Paull Family Day!

Hedon and Pocklington Scouts proudly supported the Fort Paull Family Fun Day, representing Humberside Scouts and showcasing everything Scouting has to offer.
The team brought along a fantastic activity zone where visitors could try their hand at catapult ranges, soft archery, soft tomahawk throwing, and enjoy some freshly spun candy floss. These activities proved incredibly popular with families — and even better, many people stopped to ask about joining or supporting their local Scout groups.
It was also a great chance for some of the adult volunteers heading to Poacher 2026 to meet in person — a brilliant opportunity to begin building connections ahead of the international jamboree.
Events like this don’t happen without a strong team behind the scenes. Support came from all directions:
The Fort Paull team, who helped coordinate the event
Leaders’ families, who gave their time to help with everything from setup to sales
Transport support, ensuring equipment made it safely to the site
Young leaders, who assisted with running activities throughout the day
And even last-minute volunteers, who jumped in to lend a hand when it was needed most
This collaborative effort reflects the true spirit of Scouting — resourcefulness, community, and teamwork.
Most importantly, the event helped raise awareness of local Scouting opportunities and encouraged families to get involved.
