2015 - A Year of Adventure

2015 A Year of Adventure

In the run up to the centenary for Cub Scouts taking place in 2016, the preceding year will be all about adventure for the cub section.  A series of exciting challenges will be released and cub packs will be encouraged to get their young people involved in many exciting activities throughout the year.

During the year it is hoped to inspire visits and for groups to have the opportunity to try out some adventurous activites that they may not have had the opportunity to have done before.

Cub Scouts first began in 1916, then known as wolf cubs and grew to 30,000 members within the first year.  Today there are over 150,000 young people in the section made up of both boys and girls.

2016 will be full of adventure too, with resource packs for leaders, adventure camps and thank you parties, all culminating in a promise party - the only event that has a fixed time, taking place at 7.16pm (19:16) on 16 December 2016.
