Programme Spark

We have so many young people and adult members now that join Scouting for the first time, having had no previous connections through family or being a member when they were younger. This is fantastic because it means we are reaching more people than ever before and giving them the opportunity to experience the life changing adventure of Scouting. However, as this is often their first time in Scouting, it is useful for them to know the rich history we have.

For this Spark, take some time to learn about Scouting's history with your Section. You could do some research using the internet, local historical records or older members of your community and Scout Group. You'll be amazed at how Scouting has developed and changed over the years, but has always been a large part of society.
